Web Designing主催のセミナー、
「株式会社はてなと考えるにっぽんのWeb 2.0。そのサービスとサイト運営 伊藤直也氏 × 須賀正明氏」に行ってきた！
最初は須賀氏、伊藤氏それぞれが個別に自己紹介を含めた講演と、
その後はWeb2.0についてお二人の対談、休憩を挟んで
寄せられた質疑応答とさくらインターネットの人のプレゼン、
最後に参加者からの質疑応答という流れでした。
やはり私の注目ははてなの伊藤氏。
今回は「Web2.0のサービスとサイト運営」ってタイトルだったが
伊藤氏の講演は、はてなの歴史から始まり
サービスの作り方や作るときの心構え、
環境、スピードや会社としてのポリシーなど、
はてなの内部の細かい話で、
プログラマーなワタクシにはとても興味津々なお話でした。
あ、はてなの紹介時にしなもんも登場していたよ！
相変わらず笑顔満点な写真でした。
ペアプログラミングとか合宿はあちこちで話題になっているけれども
サービスの開発は基本的に一人、というところには驚いた。
しかもその後のカスタマイズも基本的に一人らしい。
会場からの質問で
「仕様書は作るのか」みたいな質問に「作らない」とのこと。
やはりドキュメントを作成する時間があったら、どんどん作成してリリースするほうが重要。
100%の品質よりもスピードの方が重要で、
「またサービスを作ったときに、他に同じようなサービスがあるか調べますか？」
みたいな質問に、「調べない、と」
例え同じようなものができたとしても、１年、２年と育てていくと
別のものになる、といわれてなるほどー。
うんうん、と思うことばかりで、今後の自分に活かせそうな話ばかりだった。
いやー、すごく勉強になりました。
半休をとって参加するだけの価値がありでしたよ。
とっても勉強になって幸せな反面、なれない靴のせいで
靴擦れ＋両足の小指の爪から出血してました。
・・・どおりで痛いはずだよ。
きっとこの靴は合わないんだな。あう靴を探さねば。
また機会があったらセミナーに参加しようっと。

という点は、納得。というか現実的には一人でしかできないと私も感じます。特に、今はBREW関連の仕事をしているせいもあり、商用サービスの新規開発というのは、構想はいくらでも練り上げられるが、着手するのは一人でしかできないのでは?と思うところが多くありますね。それにサービスin後は、何人もの手を借りることはほとんどないかと思います。次のサービスに着手するほうへ向いてるのが現実的でしょうね、きっと。
しかし、実りある時間でよかったですね。たまには、外に飛び出して違う空気と匂いがする人たちの意見などをきくことはいい刺激になります(^^

いやー、開発といえばチームを組んで・・・という形で開発をずっとしていたのでびっくりしましたよ。
でも確かにチームで開発するのと一人で開発するのでは無駄な時間が省けますよね。一人で開発をしたほうがスピードが速いですもん。
Web関連はスピードが重要ですからね。ま、Web関連に問わずスピードは重要ですが。
ほんと良い刺激になりました。これから積極的に色々なものに参加したいと思います。
